How's your Hundred?


I'm pleased that so many of you have committed to a hundred day challenge--and amazed at your ambitious goals. It exhausts me reading through them and realizing "Oh, yes, I need to do that too," and "That's one I should really work on as well." But my own goal is proving to be enough of a challenge for me for now. Thanks to all who have posted the challenge on your own blogs. It's a lot more fun to do the challenge if you know someone else who has also taken it on--and as my friend Marianne said: "Even though I don't know most of the people on your list, and none of them have the same goal as me, I still feel like I have a support team. It makes me feel confident that I'll do what I set out to." I hope you feel the same way. We have 35 committed...1/3 of the goal! But we don't want to lose momentum, so keep referring your friends as they learn about your 100 days. I re-issue the challenge to those who are NEW, and invite those of you who are now SEASONED in this endeavor to share with us your successes!

I have decided to join the challenge a little late. I want to exercise three days a week for the next 100 days. I really don't like exercising but I love food so I figured I either had to give up food or exercise more. Food won out...so exercise it is.

Only 10 days in, and I've made great progress. I am proud to report that I have completed 3 lessons since I began the challenge (receiving an "A" on each one). Last night I ordered my mid-term exam which I'll be taking at a local college within the next few weeks. I feel so happy to be making progress! Only 14 lessons, 2 mid-terms (including the one I just ordered) and 1 final to go!

Another thing re: 100 days - have you ever watched "Celebrity Fit Club"? That's right, I watch it (I didn't give up TV like some). Last night I realized that the entire season is only 100 days. These "celebrities" lose between 20 and 40 pounds in 100 days through diet and exercise. Amazing. I think I know what my next 100 days will be :)

Great, we have added Kristi, Jewels, and Derek. Thanks Betsy too for the update and info about the celebrity fit club. I haven't seen it, but now I'd like to. I was also reading an online article last night about writing a novel in 100 days. It's a great increment of time for accomplishing goals, I think.

hi amy...this is merideth (micahs old friend). i started out reading sharalee's blog and then i would catch cheryls blog now and then...and now i like to read up on yours once in a while.
well i am commenting because i am now ready to commit to your 100 day challenge. last time i read your blog i was not ready. i am so ready to lose a lot of this pregnancy weight i have accumalated...well anyway i am going to do weightwatchers, which means i am going to eat healthier for the next 100 days. let's see how this works. thanks for the motivation.

Merideth-so fun to hear from you. I've seen your comments before on Sharalee's blog, but clicking on your name doesn't take me to your blog. Do you have one? It would be fun to get updated on your family. I love that you're doing the challenge. Babies sure take a toll on us, don't they? Good luck with your 100 days. Be sure to report back sometimes!

one more thing...we are playing with the idea of moving to cali in some near future...where do you live in cali? do you love it? wade would be working around santa monica...do you know good areas to live around there?

Hahaha@ We sucked in to the 100day challenge by the Biddles. So here are our goals: I am going to walk/bike for a minimum of 10 minutes EVERY SINGLE DAY. No matter what. I'm also going to read at least 1 verse of scripture everyday/Yeah!!!
Ammon like Andy's idea aoubt touch typing and that is also his goal.

SO do we count our start date as today and count from there?

Okay Maughan family, way to set the bar high. I accept your challenge and move to promote your 100. Thanks for a little kick in the pants to help get me moving. I love goal setting and heading that direction.

Amy, you'll be happy to know that we've introduced the 100 day program in our Young Women's Program. We are starting the count down next week and the final 100 is in October. Yes, you guessed it we will celebrate our 100 days with a YW in Excellence Party. The theme of course is "100 days".

Their goals are all different, but by actually putting a number on the day, there is a daily tug, or reminder to activly work on their goals.

I hope you don't mind that I used your blog entry, or that I took it so far.

There is about 15 more people to add to your growing list.

I wanted to give a report on my first 40 days (give or take a day). I would say I'm at about 96% at this point. I have been successful at staying away from desserts (with one small exception where I didn't want to offend someone who had purchased me some sweets, and another where I was on a long trip and needed some sugar to stay awake). That being said, there are some things that I have not been able to completely avoid with sugar IN them, though I try my best. Thus, I would report the 96%. It often is DANG hard, but it is nice to have an outside motivator to keep me in line.
